I almost finished the second full pattern repeat on Donegal this weekend. The sweater now measures about 10 inches in height and only has 6 more inches until I add steek stitches. I have to admit that I am a little weary of the steeking. I have never done it before and the thought of cutting the fair-isle that I have spent however long on makes me cringe. I'll still do it, especially since I am determined to work this patter as-is (aside from the yarn. I'm using KP Pallete instead of the uber expensive Rowan yarns. Gotta stick to the budget). Anyways, here's the sweater so far:

The red bars are not really that distracting in person. On the picture though, they stand out like a sore thumb. It's still nice looking though.
I also knit some more on the Irish Hiking Scarf. It's almost 3 feet long now:

I'm working on it now too, so it should grow some more as the day goes on.
Tomorrow will hopefully show more Donegal and more scarf progress.
Knit on...
The sweater is gorgeous, and I don't think the red stands out too much.
