A Finished Sock and Some Yarn Pron

It finally turned cool here yesterday, which figures, since it was DF's last day here. He flew out at 10 yesterday morning and I got an email at 2:45ish saying he had made it safely to Tokyo. Now he's in the air to Seoul, so he's almost there. Thanks for all the prayers and well-wishes for him and us. We both appreciate it.

In knitting news, I finished a Jaywalker yesterday while watching the ponies run.It's definitely the loudest sock in my collection now. I thought that the green rainforest socks were kind of loud, but this one screams taxi cab to me, even though it's Bee Stripe by Lorna's Laces.Oh, and the mystery stole is coming along too. I'm half-way through clue 4. I'll try to knock out a good chunk of the second half this week and weekend, assuming I don't fall asleep while knitting it. I think this is the boring part of the stole, but if I can make it through the second half of clue 4, I can start doing short rows and other stuff to keep my attention.
I also have some yarn to show. I've been allowing myself to buy 4 skeins of Lorna's or another yarn every paycheck so that I can stock up before I head over to Korea. Here's the current stash:Some people like STR, some like Opal. Me? I love Lorna's Laces. It's become my favorite sock yarn that I've used so far. For some reason, it knits up to the perfect texture for socks with my normal tension and what not. Time for close-ups:Buck's BarPurple IrisAnd, Pioneer.

You've already seen the Devon colorway before.

The sock is awesome- kinda like my Emerald socks, they might be a bit loud but they add visual interest to an outfit. :-P

The sock yarn stash is growing! I like Lorna's too... but my favorite is Cherry Tree Hill. :)

I have some Lorna's Laces around in my stash (gift from Zabet) but I haven't tried it out yet. Soooon sooon. When are you heading out to Seoul?

I'm not sure when I'm heading out yet. I've got to get a job first. I have a nibble right for for a job that would start in December, so fingers crossed.

Pretty yarns! I like the Pioneer colorway along with the Devon (which I hadn't seen before). I don't think that your Bee Stripe sock is any louder than the Sassy Stripe ones I finshed a few months ago. I just bought a skein of KnitPicks Superwash Natural - the ones with the little specks of color in the yarn - to make a "quiet" pair. {g}
