The Waiting Game

Well, now it's just a waiting game for the jobs in Korea. The city says that there are no more jobs, but that they may consider putting in a new one next year. That doesn't help us right now, especially since I don't think there's any way at all that DF would want to stay in Naju for any more than a year. So, I emailed my recruiters, and now we wait. Fun times...

Yesterday, I worked on the mystery stole for a good chunk of the evening and on my lunch break. I've been really happy with the wing because it has a lace repeat that is very easy to memorize and easy to figure out where in the pattern you are, so the piece is able to travel again. Here's the wing so far:It looks like a blobby blue thing right now. After seeing pictures of post-blocked pieces I have hope that this will look good. If I hadn't seen them, I would be rather concerned at the way this appears.

Tonight I have to work at the Earth Science open house thing we have going on at work. It's Earth Science Week, did you know that? Go hug a geologist and thank them for all their hard work at keeping you from building on caves that could collapse, drilling for oil, and monitoring ground water quality. Sure, there's other stuff too, but that's the main stuff we do here at work. Because of the open house, I'll have a good chunk of time between the time I get off work and the time I have to start working again in order to get some knitting in. I'm really hoping to be completely through with clue 6, but it would be even better if I am able to get through clue 7 as well. I only have about70 more rows to go, which doesn't seem like a ton until I consider that each row, my number of stitches grows because of the whole short-row thing.

I also brought a video game with me that may occupy some of my time too if I get tired of the shawl:Yep, DnD Tactics. This is the game that DF gave me at the airport before he left. He said he thought about getting me jewelry, but he can't play jewelry :oP Actually, I appreciate the game more than jewelry too :oP It's fairly easy game-play, almost identical to classic DnD, and it's kind of addicting. I'm betting that the game will get much harder as I go along, but right now, I'm enjoying killing goblins.

Gotta go fill up a bin full of sand and fossils for the open house now. Fun times...
