Cable of Sanity

That is what I am calling the very simple rope cable on the slog's first sleeve. It really is keeping me sane right now. After the 56 inch stockinette slog, I decided that I really needed to do something that I could finish in a couple of days, so I started the sleeve. I'm at 14 inches now, so I'm over half way done with it. Here's a picture of the sleeve:

After dropping off the last of the non-essentials over at my grandparents, I opened the shiny cardboard box that arrived from knitpicks. Inside of it was this:

Shimmer lace yarn in tourquois splendor. I immediately wanted to cast on for the dragon shawl, but I knew better than that. I must finish the slog first before starting anything new aside from socks. But that yarn just begs to be knit. I'm thinking about knitting the Adamas shawl from knitpicks out of this and using the Helen's laces that I ordered for the dragon whenever that yarn comes in. I was petting this yarn for most of the night.
