Slogging

Now that the socks have been mailed out, I have no excuses not to work on the slog. I worked on it last night and it grew about four inches and is now 29 inches long. only 11 more inches to go before I can start working on the armhole decreases. I'm looking forward to those, as silly as it may sound, just because it will be something different than miles of stockinette. Here's the slog in progress:

To appease my mind and let it know that more exciting knitting will be coming, I also ordered the Here Be Dragons shawl by Aurora-Alpacas. It looks like this for those who have not seen it:

I ordered the pattern off of Etsy.com. They people at Aurora's really do respond quickly. I had the pattern within an hour of ordering. Now I'm on the quest to find the perfect yarn for this shawl. I really want to use Helen's Laces, but they are so expensive (50 bucks a skein, and of course I need 2 skeins for this sucker). I'm going to check Magpie yarns sometime this week and see what they have in lace yarns. If they don't have anything I like, then I may have to place a knitpicks order. The alpaca cloud yarn has a lovely greenish blue that I like.

And since I have no more knitting content to show you, I leave you with a video of Spooky flopping on the floor. She did this while I was knitting on the slog. I think she understands how I feel!

Hooray- the slog is growing! Proud of you for accomplishing that. My cardigan has officially hit the black hole... it's not getting any bigger even though I've knit about 3 more hours on it. Grr.
